‘In Your Dreams’, the film Mike shot back in ‘06, has now been released on DVD in the UK.
The film stars Dexter Fletcher, Parminder Nagra, Susan George, Linda Hamilton and Elize Du Toit. Here is the Amazon plot synopsis:
When Albert Ross (Fletcher) was a boy, he had huge ambitions to go places. But now he’s grown up things haven’t turned out quite as planned. He has no girlfriend, an incredibly boring job and the step-mother from hell! However one night, Albert suddenly develops a strange power – whatever he dreams comes true – literally!
Mike plays the role of a detective in the movie who has been called in to investigate unusual going’s on in the Ross household.
Mike was back in the recording studio this month recording another couple of commercials for PokerHeaven.com. These will be aired on The Poker Channel over the coming months.
He’s also in early discussions regarding a new vampire movie to be shot in the UK next year. As ever, more news when we’ve got it.
Last week saw Mike working on a corporate video shoot for The Clinton Partnership on behalf of one of their clients, Wickes. Mike played the part of a DIY enthusiast in the video which was set just before the London Olympics in 2012. Sadly he didn’t keep hold of his copy of The Sun with the winning lottery numbers..
You may recall that ‘Hardcore’ screened to a packed audience at Cannes 2007 and has received a number of positive reviews as well as being a bit hit on the festival circuit.
Just in case you’re intrigued by the title of the film, it’s actually a comedy mockumentary. From the IMDb page:
Documentarian Linda Boreman follows naive movie director Jack Innov’s attempt to gather a cast and crew to shoot his first adult motion picture ‘Assanova’, in order to use the profits for ‘real’ films, kick-starting his film career officially at a later date.
It’s unclear which territories are covered by the distribution deal at this stage. We’ll return to the project with more news when available.
Mike was lucky enough to get to this years Cannes Film Festival. Despite what you may read in the press or see on TV, Cannes isn’t all red carpets and champagne - it’s actually quite hard work! He was over there with Neil Jones to promote ‘Stag Night of the Dead’ and meet with potential distributors for the film.
Neil and Mike also met up with Ian Rattray from Frightfest and shot a piece for their Cannes Podcast.
The final pick ups were shot this weekend for Stag Night of the Dead, the zom-com that Mike has been working on since early last year. Director Neil Jones finally called it a wrap late Sunday afternoon.
The film now goes into the edit suite and it’s hoped that there will be a screening later this year for cast and crew with the tentative release date pencilled for Halloween.
Mike spent a couple of days in Grantham shooting an infomercial with his old friend and sparring partner, James G Fain. He has worked with James on two previous movies - Hardcore and Stag Night of the Dead - as well as a corporate video for Destiny Wireless.
The infomercial was for a new fitness product called ‘Click to Get Fit and Mike played an out of shape guy working out in the gym. Mike spent several months eating pizza and drinking beer to get into shape for the role..
