Nicked Up For BBC Award

Nicked! is a short film starring Mike Busson and Beth Winslet

Nicked, the short film Mike shot for Black Cat Productions in 2005, is up for an award. It has been entered into the BBC Hampshire Big Screen competition and has been shortlisted in the Drama category.

The awards ceremony and screening will take place at the Harbour Lights Picture House in Southampton on Saturday 26 January presented by BBC South Today’s Georgie Palmer.

Website Revamp

After months of planning and preparation, the website has been developed. There are a number of new features to the site including the option to subscribe to the news updates, an enhanced gallery and Mike’s 2007 showreel is available to view via your web browser.

There are a number of new pictures available in the gallery including shots from ‘The Occupier’, ‘Nicked’ and ‘Hardcore’. In addition the News section also includes behind the scenes shots from a number of Mike’s projects including ‘Reco Men’ and ‘Stag Night of the Dead’.

Cuckoo Dare Completed

The final scenes for ‘The Cuckoo Dare‘ were shot last week and it is hoped that the film will be completed in time for entry onto the 2008 festival circuit.

More Zombie Fun

The final location scenes for ‘Stag Night of the Dead’ are being shot this week at RAF Bentwaters with further filming due to take place at the end of the year.



Catching Up

It’s been a busy few months for Mike with various castings, corporate role play work and the continuing work behind the scenes on ‘Stag Night of the Dead’. Another week of filming has been scheduled for later this year with a spring release planned.

In other news, ‘Nicked‘ has been selected for the Portobello Film Festival and will be screened week commencing 2nd August.



More Stag Night Of The Dead

Filming continued this week on ‘Stag Night of the Dead’ with further scenes being shot at RAF Uxbridge in West London.

Although the film is still in production, it is gaining a lot of interest at the popular social networking site Facebook and it already has it’s own appreciation society.

The film stars Sebastian Street, Sophie Lovell Anderson, Bruce Lawrence, James G Fain, Joe Rainbow, Rez Kempton, Doug Grant, Jeff Rudom and Brian Wheeler.

Stag Night Of The Dead

April 2nd, 2007

Principal photography begins this week for the new feature from Hanlau Films ‘Stag Night of the Dead’. Mike plays the mysterious Number 48 who is head of security for a remote military base where the Government is conducting secret experiments.

Shooting takes place at RAF Bentwaters in Suffolk which was recently featured in both ‘Dog Borstal’ and ‘Space Cadets’.



Inkheart

February 5th, 2007

Mike begins filming this week on the big screen adaptation of Cornelia Funke’s ‘Inkheart’. Starring Brendan Fraser, Andy Serkis, Helen Mirren and Jim Broadbent, the film is due to complete principal photography in March.



Auditions Begin For Stag Night Of The Dead

Mike is involved in the pre-production phases of a new feature length movie by Hanlau Films entitled ‘Stag Night of the Dead’. A comedy horror in the same vein as ‘Shaun of the Dead’, principle photography starts in April of next year.
